The main objective of the study of Theatre Arts is for students to learn more about themselves and how to bring out expressions, voice, movements in order to create characters on the stage. You will learn how to take a hold of their feelings in order to try to imitate other characters. You will study several methods of Theatre arts. You will study major movements, historical periods, specific playwrights, actors, plays and movies.

You will learn to do pantomimes, monologues, acting-games, short plays and most likely, you will be part of a major production. You will also create crafts for the stage such as masks, costumes, swords etc. Hopefully, you will be confronted to an audience more than once during the length of the course.

Classes begin Thursday, May 10th.

Time: 5:30-7:30 pm.

Place: Universidad San Sebastián (Auditorium)

 

First, you will participating at Universidad San Sebastián on May 27th for "Dia de Patrimonio Nacional." You will be acting as a talking-statue inspired from a charácter of your choice. Second, you will be part of the cast of "BROTHER SUN, SISTER MOON" in November at Universidad San Sebastián. These experiences will hopefully be part of this year´s most enriching moments.

We will read various plays. You will read among others, Konstantine Stanislavki´s “An Actor Prepares.”

Classes can be done in various languages: English, Spanish, French, German or Italian.

Cost: $8.000 an hour and a half if you are part of a group
